Job Description:
Working under the direction of the Manger or Senior Team Lead,
will be responsible for contributing to the sales of MathWorks
sophisticated engineering products; designing and developing
sophisticated software product models and simulations to
demonstrate MathWorks physical modeling product capabilities;
developing technical engineering demonstrations of MathWorks
modeling, simulation and analysis software to support the companys
sales activities; building data analytics integration models and
analytics systems to perform customer experience analysis and
analyze usage data to support data-driven sales decisions;
gathering customer software requirements to inform development and
customization of MathWorks physical modeling solutions; promoting
the technical capabilities of MathWorks physical modeling solutions
with Simscape in close collaboration with and for MathWorks
customers in North America; working with MathWorks customers to
understand initial sets of requirements; evaluating and creating
proof-of-concepts; refining, communicating, and proposing a viable
all-encompassing physical modeling solutions for a given customer
project; understanding customers engineering language, absorbing
highly technical material and concepts, and clearly communicating
verbally and in writing the solutions created and proposed with
MathWorks products; supporting the technical aspect of the sales
process; providing technical pre-sales support and guidance to
MathWorks sales organization and customers in the areas of rapid
prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop systems; working with
prospective customers to understand their workflow and provide
recommendations on how solutions from MathWorks can improve the
results of customer product development processes; delivering
product evaluations for prospective customers to prove the value of
MathWorks products within the constructs of a feasibility project;
preparing and delivering technical presentations and demonstrations
at both small customer meetings and to larger audiences at public
and private events; and working closely with the worldwide
MathWorks application engineering, development, and marketing
organizations to further improve products, identify new application
areas based on customer interactions, and develop accurate and
compelling messaging targeting the marketplace. Requires frequent
travel and on short notice. Education and Experience: Masters degree in Engineering (or foreign education equivalent)
and one (1) year of experience in job offered or one (1) year of
experience in development, testing or technical support of physical
modeling, controls algorithms, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL)
simulation of electrical systems. Special Requirements: Demonstrated expertise building physical models and performing
control development for electrical and power electronic systems to
support model-based design workflow. Demonstrated expertise designing, developing, and testing models
and algorithms for real time execution -- model-based design
hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and controls prototyping applications,
including performing reduced order modeling, optimized solver
selection, and model partitioning to utilize multi-core
architecture. Demonstrated expertise performing modeling of power-electronic
applications for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) using FPGA platforms
for capturing fast switching models; and applying power electronic
modeling techniques including averaging to increase flexibility for
HIL using model-based design. Demonstrated expertise developing presentations and technical
reports in the topic of engineering and model-based design for
scientific review; and presenting work at conferences. [Experience and/or expertise may be gained during Graduate
