Job Description:
Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered
driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that
improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both
conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving three
primary markets - passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and
off-highway equipment - Dana provides the world's

engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.
PURPOSE: This role will lead the management of quality process
related to the development and manufacture of the Dana Open ECU
Controller platform. Open ECU controllers are a critical quality
component to any vehicle platform for system and component
Integration. This individual will be responsible for the ISO 9001
quality system at the Novi Technical center as well as overseeing
IATF 16949 at our partner manufacturing locations in the US and
Mexico.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive the merging of the Pi-Innovo and Dana engineering quality
systems for a world class engineering development process for
Hardware and software products.
- Lead the improvement activities across all HW/SW engineering
sites to support structure and process control to the product
delivery from concept through production.
- Train and support project teams through the business processes
to ensure sound project health and high quality deliveries to
customers
- Lead the project teams in developing and tailoring processes
appropriate to the work being undertaken
- Coordinate with the safety team and support review for
functional safety development (e.g. ISO 26262)
- Prepare the company for external quality assessment to meet the
requirements of international standards
- Liaise with customers on quality requirements for their
projects
- Represent the company as Quality Champion on the Advanced
Product Quality Planning team (APQP), liaising with suppliers
- Lead the internal audit team in performing product and process
Quality Assurance activities to meet identified standards
- Monitor and report to management on process performance and any
improvements needed to meet business objectives
- Lead cross-functional and cross-site teams in problem solving
activities, using industry standard tools such as "Is, Is Not" , "5
Why" and 8D
- Represent the company as Quality Champion, liaising with
relevant agencies regarding audits, inspections and issues relating
to product or process quality assurance
- Plan and manage required tool and process transitions as
required in the business
- Lead the resolution of ECU supply quality issues with
customers
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree with a preference in Engineering
- 5+years Quality Assurance or related experience in an
engineering discipline
- 5+ years experience of working with quality systems in the
automotive sector, including NPI processes
- 5+ years experience of implementing processes to standards such
as IATF16949, ISO 9001, CMMi,
- Experience working with manufacturing related quality
issues
- Awareness of Automotive SPICE, ISO 26262, ISO 21434
- Qualified Lead Auditor
- Effective working knowledge of quality assurance concepts and
procedures to include APQP, PPAP, SPC, GR&R, PFMEA, Control
Plan, Error-proofing, and 7Step (8D).
- Proficient with MS Office Suite to include: Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, and Project.
- Demonstrated leadership, team building, problem solving and
decision-making skills.
- Ability to travel as requiredto plants and customers.
