Manager, Tax (US & Canada) United States - MI - Novi Job DescriptionResponsibilities, Requirements, and Competencies: Supervisory Capacity: No Supervisory Responsibilities Core Skills and Responsibilities

• Manage timely and accurate preparation, review, and filing of all returns related to income tax, State&Local Tax, franchise and excise Tax, US property Tax
• Ensure proper financial reporting of US&Canada income taxes (payables/deferred taxes)
• Assist the defense of prior tax positions as audited by US&Canada tax authorities.
• Coordinate communication of US&Canada income tax and State&Local Tax issues with various North American businessteams (Plants, Procurement, Treasury, Accounting, Legal, etc)
• Manage R&D tax credit process performed by outside service provider
• Manage FATCA / CRS / FBARs and other Information Reporting process (W-8, W-9, 1099, 1042) Experience preferred:
  • Assist the preparation of Transfer Pricing documentation reports for US&Canada
  • Support negotiation of incentive schemes with various US states and local authorities as well as continue to monetize existing grants (monitor continuous compliance with grant's conditions anddefend grant audit)
  • Strengthen and manage the process/tools/systems underlying the US&Canada tax function.
  • Oversee tasks done by external service providers when necessary
  • Be part ofa flexible team supporting your growth: depending on your skills and desire, assist the US&Canada Senior Tax Manager or the NA, EU&SAf Tax Director on a wide array of projects beyond mere US taxes
  • Business Operating System (BOS): Understand,apply and meet all function-related BOS requirements.
  • Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS): Understand, apply and meet all function-related EHS requirements.
  • Product Safety: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Product Safety requirements.
  • Compliance: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Compliance requirements
  • Information Security: Understand, apply and meet all function-related IT / Information Security and confidentiality of YFAI information requirements.

  • Ability to multitask, interact politely and professionally with customers, suppliers and vendors, and work cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain predictable and regular attendance, arrive to designated location on time, or be at assigned location ready to work for assignment (plant, corporate office, or remote) Master's Level Degree Area of Study: --- Bachelor's degree in accounting; advanced degree preferred (e.g., Master of Science in Taxation) 5-9years combined public accounting and/or corporate tax experience. Less Than 1 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotiveindustry Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required *Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.
