Position Overview

Phoenix Data Systems, Inc. is searching for a Junior Accountant to join our growing organization. The ideal candidate will strive to grow and expand skills in a multi-faceted accounting team. Extensive knowledge of Excel will be a strong advantage for fulfilling responsibilities at a high-quality level. Positive and highly responsible team-oriented individual will be an excellent fit for the team.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts receivable and payable
Preparing and posting journal entries
General ledger account reconciliations
Assist in month end closing
Report creation and maintenance
Reports to and works closely with the Staff Accountants
Bank reconciliations
Purchasing support
Assist in CRM, accounting and job tracking system maintenance
Assist in international accounting
Cost accounting:
Monthly performance metrics
Weekly applied hours reports by project
Weekly costing reports by employee
Monthly job cost reports
Technical Support departmental costing
Sales-Capacity Planning
Assist in customer hosting costs analysis


Required Qualifications & Skills

BA in Accounting or Finance
Expert in Excel
Firm grasp of accounting principles
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong analytical and organization skills
Meets deadlines on a consistent basis
Comfortable handling confidential financial information
Close attention to detail
Knowledge of Sage accounting software is a plus
