Job Description:
Job Description Overview: Our client, a Medical Center facility
under the aegis of a California Public Ivy university and one of
largest health delivery systems in California, seeks accomplished
Pediatric TBI Care and Aftercare Navigator . Candidate must be
authorized to work in USA without requiring sponsorship Location:
Oakland, CA 94609 Duration: 26-week contract w/ possibility of
extension Notes: 100% onsite role. Work Schedule: Mon – Fri; 08:00
AM – 05:00 PM Pacific Time. Description: This role is basically the
glue that keeps families supported and the trauma program
functioning smoothly after a child experiences TBI. The manager
wants someone who can blend clinical knowledge, psychosocial
support, program coordination, and project management into one
dependable human. A Strong Patient and Family Guide; they want
someone who can walk families through a scary and complex process
and reduce their confusion: Comfort providing emotional support to
stressed families; Ability to translate medical language into plain
language; Understanding of TBI recovery enough to reassure, guide,
and advocate; Confidence managing school reintegration challenges
and resources. This is why their ideal background includes
pediatric experience, TBI exposure, and psychosocial skills. A
Clinician Who Can Work Across Disciplines: Comfortable coordinating
with neurology, trauma surgery, rehab, social work, psychology,
school specialists, case management; Able to track down information
in a sometimes chaotic hospital ecosystem; Seen as a credible peer
because of licensure (LCSW, LMFT, RN, PA, NP). A Program Builder,
Not Just a Support Person. This role is not just navigation. It’s
standing up and refining a trauma survivorship program. What the
manager truly values: Someone who has built or contributed to new
programs; Someone who can think in systems; Someone who can create
processes instead of waiting for instructions; They need a person
who can help build the hub and spoke model while still serving
families. A Light Project Manager. Notice how much language is
about tracking deliverables, reporting outcomes, managing
timelines, and documenting work. The manager wants someone who can:
keep projects organized in the background; produce professional
documentation (slides, reports, charters); keep leadership updated.
This is often a pain point in clinical programs. They need someone
clinical enough to understand the content and organized enough to
track the work. A Trainer and Advocate. They want someone who can
both teach and represent the program. This includes Educating
staff; Presenting the program and its outcomes to partners; Serving
as a subject matter expert in TBI recovery. Required: Pediatric
experience or comfort, including experience in pediatric settings,
trauma/TBI care, psychosocial support, or behavioral health.
Experience with behavioral health or psychosocial support. Ability
to coordinate care across multiple disciplines and support families
emotionally. Strong communication and family engagement skills;
ability to educate families, staff, and partners. Strong
organizational skills with competency in project management and
program development. Comfort leading program components and
supporting events or improvement initiatives. Clinical licensure
preferred (LCSW, LMFT, RN, PA, or NP), especially with mental
health experience. Flexible team player. Highly Preferred: Direct
TBI experience. Ability to lead trainings. Data collection and
reporting familiarity. School reintegration knowledge (can be
taught). Preferred, but trainable: Specific software or
administrative systems. Familiarity with company structures. Prior
experience in a hub and spoke model. I'd love to talk to you if you
think this position is right up your alley, and assure a prompt
communication, whichever direction. If you're looking for rewarding
employment and a company that puts its employees first, we'd like
to work with you. Satwinder “Sat” Singh Lead Technical Recruiter
