Job Description:
Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead,
will be responsible for designing and developing sophisticated
software for small self-contain projects; designing and
implementing moderately-complex software to interface MATLAB and
Simulink with automotive standards and file formats including MDF,
ODS, MDX, and A2L, and automotive networks including CAN, CAN FD,
XCP, J1939, and Automotive Ethernet; writing high quality code,
designing extensible software using software engineering
principles, patterns and methodologies, performance monitoring and
integration; participating in software development projects of
moderate scope, from requirements gathering and design to
implementation, qualification and validation; assisting
cross-functional team members in engineering, quality engineering,
user experience, and documentation; increasing productivity and
bringing quality features to market; and working with subject
matter experts in pursuit of continuous improvement of designs and
strategies. Education and Experience: Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
related field (or foreign education equivalent) and no
experience. OR Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years
of experience as a Software Engineer (or related occupation)
developing software tools for automotive applications. Special Requirements: Demonstrated expertise in object-oriented programming in MATLAB
and Simulink and programming in C/C++; and in the full software
development life cycle (SDLC), including requirement analysis,
design, implementation, and testing. Demonstrated expertise using vehicle bus monitoring tool --
Vector CANalyzer to monitor and record data from a CAN vehicle bus;
and analyzing the results of vehicle bus monitoring tools to
perform testing and validation against MATLAB and Simulink
models. Demonstrated expertise in Model-Based system design and control
of vehicle dynamics using MATLAB and Simulink to model and test
automotive systems. Demonstrated expertise performing model-in-the loop (MIL)
testing using MATLAB and Simulink; and using industry standard
protocols -- CAN, TCP/IP or UDP in Vehicle, IP, or Optical
