Job Description:
Will be responsible for contributing to the marketing and sales
of MathWorks sophisticated automotive engineering products;
designing and developing product models and simulations to
demonstrate MathWorks product capabilities in automotive control
systems; developing technical engineering demonstrations of
MathWorks modeling, simulation and analysis software to support the
companys technical sales activities; building data analytics
integration models using cloud platforms, including Amazon Web
Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and analytics
systems to perform customer experience analysis and analyze usage
data to support data-driven decisions; engaging and partnering with
automotive customers in the areas of automotive Advanced Driver
Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD), with a focus
on promoting the use of MathWorks tools in their development and
verification systems; recommending technical approaches using the
existing products and developing proof of concept solutions for
possible future products; developing virtual simulation
environments and building complete solutions involving verification
and deployment of perception, path planning, and controls
algorithms; leading engagements with key automotive customers in
the ADAS/AD area and promoting MathWorks tools capabilities;
working closely with the sales team and other customer-facing staff
to provide technical guidance for the successful adoption of
MathWorks tools; leveraging industry experience to build customer
credibility; and advocating for the future direction of MathWorks
products based on customer interactions. Requires domestic travel
based on company/client need (approximately 25 %). Education and Experience: Masters degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or a
closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and two (2)
years of experience as a Senior Application Engineer (or related
occupation) leading technical sales to automotive customers. OR Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or a
closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and no
experience. OR Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or a
closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five
(5) years of experience as a Senior Application Engineer (or
related occupation) leading technical sales to automotive
customers. Special Requirements: Demonstrated expertise in model based design and development
using MATLAB and Simulink, including virtual vehicle simulations
using 3D visualization environments -- Automotive Simulation Models
(ASM), CarMaker, or Unreal -- for closed-loop simulation to model
and test controllers; and developing models for Artificial
Intelligence Machine Learning (AIML). Demonstrated expertise in verification and validation of
Advanced Driving Support System and Autonomous Driving (ADAS/AD)
simulations, including sensors, vehicle, and traffic models;
writing algorithms using Vector CAPL and CANoe and applying
computer vision to ADAS simulation; deploying Artificial
Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) algorithms using cloud
computing platforms -- AWS, GCP, and Azure -- for automotive ADAS
applications in the field of computer vision and signal processing;
and compiling C code for real-time simulation and
Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing of plant models. Demonstrated expertise performing traffic scenario simulation
creation that closely resembles real-world environments using
MATLAB, Simulink, and 3D Simulation Environments -- MotionDesk,
CarMaker, Unreal, or Unity; and in sensor simulation within an
automated driving environment using MATLAB- or Simulink-based
toolboxes. Demonstrated expertise delivering embedded system product
