**Must be a U.S Citizen or U.S Permanent Resident (Green card holder)** I have an exciting Direct Hire opportunity for a Controls Algorithm Engineer with a client in Novi, MI who has experience in sensor and module development. This client offers a wide range of in-vehicle electronics for an enhanced driving experience that meets industry standards for consumer safety. Their product lines include electromechanical and electronic devices for all types of vehicles. These products are designed to meet the automotive needs of a global market. Overview:Works with the hardware and software design teams to develop and apply advanced control system concepts to DC-DC Converter and Inverter designs. We are looking for someone to own this process as we do not have the expertise currently on our staff - Someone who wants to have a lot of input in terms of researching and buying the appropriate tools (MATLAB, dSPACE is necessary.) Preferably someone who has experience starting a MATLAB model from scratch.Essential Duties and Responsibilities --- Develop algorithms, software, and computer models for evaluation of the control strategies for new converter concepts.--- Responsible for creating, building, developing, calibrating, and testing control strategies.--- Create and build algorithm models and simulations using computer design tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.--- Create embedded software from the algorithm models for use in electronic control units.--- Specify electronics for reading sensors and inputs and controlling outputs.--- Create test plans and perform validation of the algorithms and software.--- Perform calibration of the control systems on development prototypes.--- Supports realization of control algorithms into real-time software.Education/Training Requirements:--- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in controls systems engineering--- 1-3 years of control algorithm experience --- Model-based control algorithm development--- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink --- Embedded software development a plus.--- Experience with lower layer software development (plus)--- Knowledge of C, C++ and assembly language programming for embedded systems (plus)--- Excellent written and oral communication skills--- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others--- High level of analytical ability and ability to solve complex problemsCore Competencies/Knowledge:--- Model-based control algorithm development--- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink--- Digital signal processing and filtering, FIR filters, FFT--- Experience with in-circuit emulators, logic analyzers--- Experience with microcontrollers--- Experience in embedded control system design--- Familiarity with basic electrical engineering concepts--- Knowledge of debugging, testing and verification techniques Why Kelly--?Your engineering skills are in demand, but how do you find the right fit?
