Job DescriptionOpportunity:The Product Engineer will be
responsible for the design and development of new products from
concept to launch which includes conceptual work, design work,
prototyping/samples, testing and validation. The position will also
identify and execute strategic cost reduction opportunities.
- Applies technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop
customized customer-centric designs. Leads all activities related
to the design, prototyping, modifications, testing and validation
of the new products.
- Identifies and implements strategic product cost optimization
opportunities with existing products.
- Collaborate with key functions in the organization and
coordinates required support activities.
- Works closely with BrassCraft manufacturing engineering and
suppliers to ensure that designs are both producible and robust.
May also be involved with designing product specific manufacturing
production processes and equipment.
- Supports procedures and protocols to ensure quality &
reliability of new products being developed.
- Supports aftermarket product modification and upgrade programs,
through quick and accurate engineering analyses (FEA, stack up
analysis, DOE etc.)
- Performs risk analysis and presents findings to internal
engineering and appropriate levels of management
- Works with the CAD design team to ensure design documentation
is accurate, meets design intent and kept up to date, while driving
design standardization across all product lines.
- Assesses design form, fit and function improvement
opportunities, and develops a prioritized project queue
- Travel requirements 20%
- Performs other related duties as needed and assigned ESSENTIAL
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of new product development experience
- Solid understanding and experience of product development
abilities related to DFMEA, Stack Ups, interpreting FEA analysis
quality systems and testing methodologies.
- Working knowledge of GD&T with ability to read and
interpret documents (drawings, specifications, procedure manuals,
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and proven
successful ability to build positive partnerships, while working
collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely
- Ability to identify and seek needed information/Research
skills. Analytical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities
