If you are a Controls Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Novi, MI location, you will join the Water Projects team which is responsible for project engineering / management and execution of SCADA Distributed Control System projects for Great Lakes Area municipal water projects. Responsibilites will include engineering and technical management of projects, specifically in the Detroit water market. Through the project the engineer will ensure a complete and correct design, implementation and integrated testing of application software (control logic, database, reports, data-links and graphics).
AS A CONTROLS ENGINER, YOU WILL:

• Interface with customers on a technical level/commercial basis and develop good relationships
• Lead and manage the application design and engineering execution of water projects
• Interface with Emerson Operations Group to track progress and help engineer the project hardware architecture
• Monitor customer satisfiaction throughout execution cycle and deliver top-notch results on all projects
• Optimize the utilization of global resources on engineering activities in support of department objectives
• Develop and track project engineering plans and ensure ontime delivery of all requirements
• Proactively estimate and communicate project resource needs
• Participate in subject matter expert teams
• Track engineering progress and issue monthly progress reports
• Identify and recommend improvements in processes on a continuing basis and implement improvements
• Monitor project financials to meet department objectives
• Build strong engineering teams helping mentor junior engineers/co-ops
• Provide support to the project pursuits , marketing and lifecycle teams as needed
• Collaborate and provide technical leadership to add value to the customer solutions
• Lead Design Meeting with end-user customer and Emerson's Subcontractors

  REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or in a related technical discipline or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in an engineering enviornment PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
    • Municipal water experience
    • Experience managing projects
