you! Based in our Novi Michigan location, your duties will include
hardware design of industrial low voltage embedded circuits,
schematic capture, troubleshooting of design issues; as well as,
regulatory/certification process and engineering support throughout
the product life cycle.WHO YOU ARE:

This role has the flexibility of working up to 2 days per week
remote. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules
enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our
customers.AS AN EMBEDDED HARDWARE ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
- Design and develop circuitry for Industrial control low power
I/O devices, solenoid coil driver circuits and industrial network
communication applications
- Circuit design to CE EMI/EMC testing standards (e.g. EN
55011-1998, IEC 61000-4, IEC 61000-6)
- Create component specification and hardware test specification
based on required parameter, performance and cost criteria
- Interface with firmware design/development team and mechanical
engineering team
- Provide post-production support by identifying complex
technical issues, evaluating options and implementing
solutions
- Specify appropriate test equipment and engineering tools
- Contribute to cost reduction programs of existing product
designs
- Contribute new and innovative ideas to rapidly evolving
business development activitiesREQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE &
SKILLS:
- BSEE/BSEET/BSCE or equivalent (OR - if no degree, 10 years of
relevant experience)
- Experience in low voltage industrial control circuit
design
- Digital design experience including logic, microcontrollers,
SPI/I2C RS485
- Experience with schematics, component data sheets and
electronic test equipment
- Analog design experience including active/passive filters,
amplifiers
- Switching and linear power supply circuits
- Designing and analyzing electronic and embedded solutions
including ability to perform electronic design calculations
- Strong verbal and written communication skillsPREFERRED
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Knowledge of C/C++ language in embedded environments
- Analog design experience including 0 -10V, 4-20mA
- FPGA design using VHDL
- Altium Schematic Capture and Layout tools
- Microchip PIC family, MPLAB, Atmel AVR, Freescale, ARM,
ColdFire, SoC
- Knowledge of industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET,
DeviceNet, Profibus-DP, EtherCAT)
- Circuit simulation experience
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC standards and testing methods
- PCB layout for SMT & Through Hole applications
- Experience in working with international design teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and
efficiently
- Ability to respond and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
