Focus Areas
We're currently on the lookout for a Mechanical Engineer with
Design Experience to join the MARTIN Mobility team. In this role
you will assist with design, engineering, analysis, validation, and
release on one or more of the following areas:
- Chassis Integration
- Vehicle Dynamics
- Suspension
- Steering
- Structures
- Wheel End Systems Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (suppliers,
manufacturing, testing, and validation) on project life cycle
activities (cradle-to-cradle responsibility)
- Generate and review 2D, 3D, and analytical models
- Assist in definition of appropriate system-level engineering
targets to meet function, quality and attribute requirements of the
Vehicle Program
- Assist in development and validation of Vehicle / System Design
specifications incorporating company, industry, and regulatory
standards and validation through appropriate test procedures
- Work to ensure system meets targets
- Provide design, attribute or packaging solutions through deep
collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the Design
Validation Plan and Report (DVP&R) including in-house and
supplier testing plans, and work to ensure sign-off tests are
completed on schedule
- Troubleshoot and resolve all design and validation issues
- Assist the Purchasing team in sourcing and RFQ activities
- Support (both virtual and in-person) product launch and
pre-production builds
- Manage Open Issues Tracking and Resolution.
- Develop, track and update vehicle level architecture
specifications. Required Education / Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, MET, Automotive
Engineering or relevant experience
- Strong grasp of solid mechanics fundamentals (fluid mechanics
is a plus)
- Engineering knowledge of defined requirements and validation of
component(s) / system(s) design, function, performance, production
& manufacturing requirements, testing, and validation
- Expert proficiency in Solidworks,
- Problem solving mindset
- Proven experience in the development of vehicle chassis
aggregates like chassis, suspension and dynamics, steering system
and brakes Additional Preferred Education / Skills
- 5+ years in vehicle packaging or CAD / CAE design with an
expertise in either Body Structure, Closures, Chassis, Powertrain,
Interiors or Exteriors Preferred
- Working knowledge of GD&T, FMEA, DVP&R, DFSS, DFA, DFM,
APQP, VAVE and problem resolution (8D, Ishikawa diagrams, etc.)

- Familiarity with automotive structures, manufacturing and
fastening methods Preferred
- Proficient knowledge of Ergonomics in the automotive design
process Preferred
- Proficient knowledge with Product Life Cycle Management Tools
Preferred
- Familiarity with DFMEA processes Preferred
- Previous OEM and automotive experience Preferred
- Experience with regulatory requirements Preferred
- Hybrid, Electric Vehicle or Autonomous experience Preferred
Must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from
Mexico or Canada.
