General Summary:
As a Senior Algorithm Engineer on Qualcomm's Vehicle Guidance teams, you will join a Detroit-based cross functional development team working on ADAS and AD features. You will follow agile methodologies to contribute to the vehicle guidance software stack. The algorithms you'll be developing use map data and perception/sensor information to make driving decisions that allow the autonomous vehicle to safely function alongside other vehicles and objects on the road.---

**What you'll do:---**



  • Design, simulate, implement, and test behavior prediction including trajectory and intent prediction---


  • Train and improve novel machine learning models to predict trajectories for road users and optimize them to run in real time.


  • Collaborate with upstream (perception and localization) and downstream (motion prediction and vehicle controls) teams to ensure proper feature functionality---


  • Evaluate and improve algorithm performance---


  • Proactively identify and contribute to changes that help the product progress along its roadmap---


  • System debugging and data analysis to root-cause and solve issues---


  • Design and perform tests in various environments (SiL,---HiL, in-vehicle) to verify system performance and robustness---


  • Collaborate with systems engineers to support the creation and break-down of requirements and test cases---


  • Collaborate with systems engineers to support the design of end-to-end system architecture---


  • Perform system tuning and develop calibration guidelines---


  • Follow defined software development and documentation procedures---


  • Support regional customer discussions---


  • Mentor junior engineers on the team---


    Minimum Qualifications:
    --- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
    OR
    Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
    OR
    PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
    **Preferred Qualifications:---**


    • Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or similar), Math, Computer Science, or related field.---


    • Prior experience working on a cross-functional development team in an agile environment.---


    • Prior experience working with behavior prediction for autonomous agents---


    • Prior experience with ADAS/AD algorithm development.---


    • Proficient in variety of deep learning models (ANNs) like CNN, RNN, LSTM, VAE,---GraphCNN---etc---


    • Proficient in MLOps (e.g. pytorch, tensor flow, KubeFlow, AirFlow)


    • In-vehicle testing and tuning experience of ADAS software.---


    • Prior experience with CI/CD or build management.---


    • Exposure to standards compliance (ISO-26262, ASPICE, AUTOSAR).---


    • Prior experience working with the Tools & Technologies listed in the next section.---


      **Tools & Technology:---**


      • C++, Python development in mainly Linux, but also Windows environment---


      • Git/Gerrit---


      • Python scripting for CI/CD tools---


      • Agile methodologies/frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, XP,---LeSS,---SAFe---


      • ROS framework for messaging, logging, & playback---


      • AD/ADAS simulation tools such as---CarMaker---


      • SystemWeaver,---Codebeamer, or similar ALM tool---


      • Jira/Confluence---

        Pay range:
        $104,000.00 - $156,000.00
        The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
