Job Description:
Role Summary The Senior System Test Manager leads the system
test engineering team(s) through various product development and
production cycles delivering innovative and cost-effective
solutions into manufacturing and to our customers. The Manager has
responsibility for both people management (development, coaching)
and project leadership where needed. Key Responsibilities --- As a
part of Global System Test line management, this position is
responsible for managing all aspects of system test related to NA
programs --- Responsible for hiring and developing team members
that are part of the System test organization --- Ensures that
programs are properly resourced (both quality and quantity) for
success, whether through an assignment of direct resources, or
leverage of external resources as required. --- Provides team
leadership, management support, including coaching and active
engagement with the direct and extended team. --- Provides
technical leadership in directing the efforts of cross-functional
engineering team in the development and release of all relevant
engineering deliverables in compliance with the product development
process and/or customer expectations. --- Ensures engineering
timing plans, defect/issues lists, risk assessments, lessons
learned are created and maintained and provides engineering status
for project reviews (e.g. gate, design, milestones, etc.) according
to program timing for all assigned projects. --- Responsible for
leading 4 main groups with the system test organization --- Test
Management and Strategy, System Integration & Verification,
Function Performance test, and Vehicle Build and Vehicle test
activities --- Works with counterparts located in Germany and India
to develop HIL/SIL, data management, storage strategies, and
platforms that become the basis of future programs --- Leads data
collection activities along with instrumentation and management of
fleet vehicles --- Ensures proper development of HIL/SIL systems
that align with globally defined platform strategy and footprint
--- Approve GPEP tailored deliverable matrix and all phase
checklists --- Approve Product Release Notes prior to delivery to
the customer --- Responsible (depending on position) for all
engineering quote response (effort, material, capital, tooling,
etc.) for new programs and customer changes after awarding of
business --- Directly manage Team Leads, TPLs, Project Leads,
functional lead engineers, and engineers in the implementation of
project objectives and overall activities. --- Responsibilities
include, interviewing, hiring, training, reward and disciplinary
actions, and performance appraisals of employees. --- Leads
continuous improvement efforts for products, processes, and
programs. --- Ensures compliance to Company procedures (e.g.
Process - Work Instructions) and applicable standards (e.g. ISO/TS
16949, ISO/IEC TR 15504). --- This role relates to the following
disciplines: Application, Automation & Simulation, Core, EMC,
Optics, Regional, Validation, Verification --- The Senior Manager
will have the responsibility to manage both individual contributors
and first-level managers and team leaders. --- Responsibility and
ownership of all development activities for all products within a
product line family. --- Resource planning and alignment to ensure
that all projects in the department are properly staffed with the
right quality and quantity of resources to meet the deliverables in
an effective and efficient way is a key objective of this position.
Key Qualifications/Requirements --- Bachelor---s degree in
engineering, Masters's degree preferred. --- Management/leadership
training is an asset (Required for Senior Manager positions) ---
MBA degree highly preferred --- Target 15 years of relevant
experience in the appropriate discipline, delivering complex
technical projects and in team
