We are looking for a Director of Human Resources for North Americawho will be a strategic partnerwho manages the overall provision of HR services by providing direction, leadership and guidance to Management and HR team members. Establishes departmental key performance indicators, and process standardization and improvement, specifically in the areas of training and development, benefits, compensation, and union and non-union employee relations matters which supports the accomplishment of the company's strategic goals.

Your Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Provides support, guidance and development to HR team members
  • Monitors and interprets employee engagement and development, retention and turnover trends and metrics, designing and executing a comprehensive, high-impact plan for improving the company's overall engagement, talent development & retention measures
  • Defines company-wide training programs and assigns the responsibility of HR and respective management
  • Supports the design, modification and administration of defined benefit and contribution retirement plans
  • Collaborates with team members to maintain and administer the company's compensation program
  • Investigates internal/external complaints or grievances and assist in resolution, as necessary
  • Leads and/or supports union negotiations, and collaborates on the development of respective negotiations strategies -
  • FMLA administration oversight and improvement
  • Works with internal & external resources to obtain State & Local grant money for new business awards; administer program in accordance within required guidelines as set forth by Corporate
  • Continually evaluates HR and operations structures for continual improvement of efficiency and effectiveness
  • Keeps updated with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advises management on needed actions The qualified candidate will have the following education, experience and language abilities. Education / Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or Organizational Development; Master's degree preferred.
    • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources function, including plant level experience
    • Labor relations and union relations experience
    • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop HR staff membersLanguage Ability
      • Must be fluent in English
      • Above average oral and written communication skills
