RN - Registered Nurse (Graduate Nurse) - Medical/Surgical - Neuro

Join our family of dedicated, highly valued RN at Ascension Providence Hospital, Novi, Michigan.

Full Time ; 36 hours a week, (3-12 hour shifts) 7pm- 7am Nights every other weekend, rotating holidays

Unit Description:

This is a 16-bed telemetry unit dedicated to the care of our patients with both medical and surgical neuroscience disorders. This unit houses our specialty Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), and Stable patient population from the Neuroscience ICU which consist of CVA's, TIA's, ischemic stroke with intravenous alteplase, craniotomies related to stroke, and neuroendovascular interventions including to but not limited to carotid stent placement, cerebral stent placement, and non-ruptured aneurysm repair.

GN applicants will be considered for this position. The selected Graduate Nurse candidate will have 45 days from hire to successfully pass the NCLEX for Michigan RN licensure.

**Sign on Bonus Eligible- Full Time (Prorated for Part Time, PRN ineligible)**

Experienced nurses with one year or more of prior applicable experience may be eligible for a bonus of $7,000.

Pref ADN/BSN, ACLS/BLS, NIH, 1 year of nursing preferred Sched Three 12 hour shifts 7p-7a every other weekend, rotating holidays

What You Will Do

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

+ Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.

+ Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

+ Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

+ Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

+ BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.

+ Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

+ Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
