Job Description:
Position Description Henry Ford Providence Hospitals ( Novi and
Southfield campuses ) are seeking a Physician Assistant to provide
locum coverage in the General Surgery department . This
hospital-based, OR-focused role supports a large surgical team at a
Level II Trauma Center . Coverage Dates: Immediate start – December
31, 2025 (option to remain credentialed PRN afterward) Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts (approx. 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., flexible
start/end times), 40 hours per week Call Requirements: None
Location: Novi & Southfield campuses Practice Setting:
Hospital-based OR with 20 operating rooms and 3 DaVinci robots
Responsibilities First-assist at bedside for robotic surgical cases
(GYN, urology, general surgery, bariatrics) Port placement and
closure of port sites Occasional assistance in non-robotic cases as
needed Occasional discharges, documentation, and outpatient
prescriptions Team & Environment Surgeons and residents present in
all cases (senior residents at console; junior residents bedside)
Supported by scrub techs and circulating nurses 30 surgeons
credentialed on robotic platform
