Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Support surgical teams in delivering exceptional patient care as a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room. This contract opportunity is based in Midland, MI, involving critical participation in preparing and assisting during surgical procedures. The role supports surgeons and collaborates closely with surgical technologists and nursing staff to ensure seamless operations within the surgical suite. Responsibilities include ensuring that all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are prepared and functioning correctly before procedures. Assisting surgeons intraoperatively by providing exposure, aiding in hemostasis, closure, and performing essential technical functions that contribute to patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes is a core duty. This involves skills such as proper draping, retracting, suctioning, sponging, suturing, tissue handling, cautery techniques, and applying appropriate dressing materials. Key duties include: Applying detailed knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, physiology, and operative techniques tailored to specific surgeries. Confirming that all necessary surgical supplies and instruments are available and properly accounted for, collaborating with nursing and surgical technologist teams. Assisting surgeons with patient positioning, draping, retraction, suctioning, tissue handling, cautery, stapling, and suturing. Supporting surgical team members in patient transportation, positioning, and comprehensive care within the OR environment. Qualifications or Desired Experience: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license. OR nursing experience preferred, with knowledge of surgical instrumentation and intraoperative procedures. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
