Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A nursing opportunity is available in Battle Creek, MI, on a stepdown unit specializing in general medical and oncology care. This contract position seeks a skilled RN with a strong background in PCU/Stepdown nursing and chemotherapy administration. Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive care to general medical and oncology stepdown patients in a stepdown unit. Administer chemotherapy via IV safely and competently. Start and manage IVs using equipment such as Welch Allyn Vital Sign towers and Sigma IV pumps. Utilize EPIC for accurate and timely documentation. Collaborate with support staff to maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios, typically 1:4-6. Float to other medical-surgical areas, including acute units and ER, when required. Adhere to assigned schedules, including every other weekend shifts and night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Valid Michigan RN license. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association. ONCC or ONS certification in hand. A minimum of two years experience in PCU/Stepdown settings. Proficiency in chemotherapy administration and IV insertion. Schedule: Night shifts, 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM). Every other weekend required. Some floating to other units expected. Block scheduling may be accommodated upon request. Availability during the first two weeks of assignment is mandatory.
