Unit Description:  A 17 bed Medical /Acuity Adaptable Unit dedicated to the care of the medical patient.  Specialty care includes care for some surgical patients and care for the elderly patient.  Patient teaching and discharge planning are major components of nursing care on this unit.  A focus on relationship-based care combined with advanced medical surgical nursing allows us to care for the changing needs of these patients throughout their stay.

 

Scheduled Hours: FT Nights- This associate will work three 12 hour shifts per week from 7:00PM through 7:30AM.  This will include rotating weekends and holidays. 

 

 

What You Will Do:

Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.

• Aid with movement and placement of patients.
• Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
• Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Document necessary records.
• Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.
• Nurse Aide credentialed from the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry. Any issuing authority accepted preferred.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.
