PURPOSE: Reporting to the Application Engineering Team Leader, you will be responsible for supporting customers in their electric and hybrid vehicle development and supporting the team to manage properly change over existing products. In this context, you will assist customers with component selection, to do design review, to perform product commissioning and to support problem analysis and diagnostics. You will be the main technical point of contact for the customer during all the phases.







PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in the development of customer quotes and requirements and lead design review process
  
  
• Assist customers in the selection of Dana TM4 products and the design of vehicles using Dana TM4 products
  
  
• Collaborate with customers to define control strategies considering passenger safety and current standards
  
  
• Simulate customer applications to determine if requirements are met
  
  
• Develop specifications and the define requirements
  
  
• Develop and maintain project schedules as agreed upon between internal/external customers and Dana TM4
  
  
• Identify and resolve project issues, using root cause analysis and provide a robust process for change management
  
  
• Act as the point of contact with customers or the project lead application engineer and internal teams during all phases of product development
  
  
• Serve as the liaison with internal/external customers on program issues, including participation in their meetings
  
  
• Run impact analysis based on the changes to apply and maintain engineering process documentation and FMEA accordingly
  
  
• Challenge engineering team about the new development and improvement
  
  
• Maintain and modify systems documentation (Specifications, technical data, requirements, etc.)
  
  
• Manage communication and document exchange between internal technical teams and clients
  
  
• Validate and advise customers on their mechanical, electrical and system integration
  
  
• Diagnose vehicle problems that may affect Dana TM4 products or vehicle operation
  
  
• Support on-site and remote vehicle commissioning and technical meetings
  
  
• Make technical presentations to all levels of the customer organization
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
  
  
  
  
  • 
    
    
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical, mechatronic, software engineering or similar
    
    
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in mechatronics engineering or similar
    
    
    
    
    
    
    
    
    
    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    • Knowledge of electric vehicle systems
      
      
    • Software and control systems background
      
      
    • Knowledge of inverter and electric motor
      
      
    • Both strategic and hands on; able to lead in execution as well as develop strategy.
      
      
    • Able to make decisions independently with appropriate level of consultation/communication.
      
      
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, at all levels
      
      
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required (25% of the time)
      
      
    • Accomplished project manager with ability to work successfully in a matrix environment
      
      
    • Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink
      
      
    • Knowledge of Python
      
      
    • CAN interface
      
      
    • Able to effectively interface with other disciplines in the organization to achieve result
      
      
    • Proficient technical skills Microsoft Office; PowerPoint, Excel, Lotus Notes
      
      
    • Excellent customer relationship management skills
      
      
    • Knowledge of Altassian tools (BitBucket, JIRA, Confluence)
      
      
    • Polarion software,embedded systems development processes (A-Spice or DO178)
