Job Purpose
Dana Incorporated is seeking to fill the position of an Embedded
Systems Validation Lead in our central engineering, Systems,
Controls, Software, Methods & Tools team in our Plymouth or Novi,
Michigan office. The embedded systems validation lead will perform
a critical role in ensuring robust, high-quality products through
comprehensive embedded systems validation - from software
development & verification, through software integration, hardware
integration, and system-level testing for multiple control module
products within Dana. This role will have an immediate cross
functional impact on the Verification and Validation of integrated
electrification solutions across all of Dana's business units -
Light Vehicle, Commercial Vehicle, and Off Highway .
Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop global validation strategies for embedded development
teams (software unit test through system test)
* Define standardized test environments and capabilities required
to execute validation strategies (SIL, MIL, HIL)
* Plan test property needs for full validation coverage (virtual
analysis tools, test benches, etc.)
* Work with suppliers to procure equipment and software
* Manage validation team resources to support multiple projects -
both direct and indirect team members.
* Lead development of validation requirements, validation
procedures, validation test cases to maximize reuse across
projects
* Document and track all issues discovered by validation testing
activities and lead root cause analysis and issue resolution
efforts with the development teams
* Engage with business unit engineering community and customer
reporting, representing Dana in a positive, ethical, and
professional manner.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in electrical or Computer Engineering
required.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in embedded systems development
in automotive or commercial vehicle industries
* Minimum of 5 years in embedded systems validation of electronic
control modules, hardware and software components. Including
procurement and commissioning of complex Hardware-in-the-Loop
equipment (dSpace, Opal-RT, ETAS)
* Minimum of 4 years working within established industry standards
relating to validation methods (ASPICE, ISO-26262, IATF-16949)
* Minimum of 3 years validating Hybrid, Electric, or Fuel Cell
vehicle systems or sub-systems
* Minimum of 3 years supervising global engineering teams
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES (Preferred)
* Experience and knowledge of the operation of high voltage
propulsion systems, high or low voltage auxiliary systems, vehicle
control systems, battery system and power distribution units
* Both strategic and hands on; able to lead in execution as well as
develop strategy.
* Able to make decisions independently and set direction for the
team.
* Commitment to the highest standards of ethical behavior in self
and others; commitment to inclusion and diversity
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
(20% of travel)
* Accomplished business leader with the ability to work
successfully in a matrix environment
* Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, at all
levels
