Our Supply Chain Specialist: Our Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for working directly with our customers and supporting their supply chain needs through our Operations Team and our proprietary Transportation Management System software. The Supply Chain Specialist will be executing customer-specific transportation projects and cultivating solutions to ever-changing circumstances. You will have ownership of and successfully meet customer's requirements and deliverables while continuously analyzing and implementing potential process improvement initiatives for future needs. You will have access to and utilize our internal operations team for escalated issues.
We are looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to implement and assist with supply chain and logistics-based operations for one of our largest customers. You will be an integral point-of-contact and representative of ProTrans International by serving the customer and successfully executing their logistical needs.
Locations: We are open to 3 locations: Indianapolis, IN/Novi, MI/Greer, SC (Role is a combination of remote/hybrid)
Shift: Monday-Friday (0800-1700)
Travel: Potential quarterly travel to one or more sites affiliated with the customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Logistics Plan Management:-- Responsible for fully understanding the logistics plan (SRS) for their customer.-- Gather, understand, and submit complete permanent changes to the plan-- Entering Engineering Change Requests (ECR's). Confirming that the ECR's are completed and the carriers have received the tenders.-- Coordinate adjustments to the logistics plan.-- Submitting Add, Change, Cancels, and following up with carriers to confirm the adjustment has been received.-- Communicate holiday schedules to customer.-- Confirming carriers for holiday planning. Adjusting the LP for the customer and the carriers so both run efficiently.-- Communicate customer adjustments internally at ProTrans.-- Responsible to enter bid requests as necessary to accommodate the plan and adjustments to the plan.-- Responsible to ensure unplanned requests are handled for the customer.-- Responsible to arrange support on expedite shipment needs of the customer.-- Entering multi-stop unplanned shipments.-- Entering unplanned shipments from ProTrans docks when requested from the customer.
Monitor Network Performance:-- Responsible for escalating service level issues to senior SCM's.-- Responsible for ensuring customer is aware of any exceptions in performance, delays etc.-- Reach out to carriers for updates to receive faster responses as required.-- Responsible for ensuring reporting is distributed as necessary (daily, weekly, monthly).-- Review and send unplanned report every morning and at the end of each week and month.-- Responsible for daily shipment status reporting.-- Responsible for reporting end of day status to management and customer.-- Responsible for escalating service issues when exceptions are identified from the operations team.-- Reach out to CDMs/Procurement to set up service calls and issuing CNCR's as needed.-- Responsible for extracting, assembling, and analyzing logistics data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Customer Maintenance / Single Point of Contact:-- Drive Supplier and Service Provider compliance by communicating and obtaining signoff of Customer guidelines and requirements for all logistics operations.-- Work in conjunction with central operations and customer service to handle complaints and ensure support plans are in place to maintain long-term customer relationships.-- The lane / route level contact main point of contact for all operational customer related actions, issues, etc.-- Assist Plant with Daily Operational issue resolution.
Your Work DNA: -- Strong background in problem solving and desire to provide excellent customer service.-- Ability to adapt and react to frequently changing circumstances within logistics.-- Ability to analyze data, trends, and communicate potential solutions to various teams.-- Strong ability in time management and the maintenance of several occurring tasks and projects.-- Ability and desire to drive for results and solutions to potential inefficiencies within the customer's supply chain and logistics operations.-- Strong self-motivation and willingness to work with the customer after-hours and potentially on weekends.-- Desire to continuously improve customer relations and our ProTrans International customer service delivery model.
Education and/or Experience:-- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, or business-related field OR Diploma and equivalent experience.-- 0-3 years of industry experience within logistics and supply chain.-- Automotive logistics experience preferred, but not required.-- Willing to travel both nationally and internationally to customer locations within the ProTrans International network.-- Experience using web-based business intelligence tools.-- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, etc.).
