Weil Technology North America (Weil Technology's subsidiary and US headquarters) is looking for an experienced Regional Sales Manager to help our company grow with new machine orders from our North American customers. The Regional Sales Manager will travel to customer facilities throughout the US and Canada (in their designated territory), introduce Weil Technology's machine concepts and solutions to new and existing customers, and sell our metal-forming equipment. The Regional Sales Manager is the main Weil contact for the customer up until an order is placed with our company, at which point the project is taken over by a Project Manager.


The Regional Sales Manager will have the following responsibilities:

- - - - - - - -Travel throughout the US and Canada (in their designated sales territory) to give technical sales presentations at the customer's site. Work out of our office in Novi, MI. Some travel to our parent company in Germany will also be required, for visits with customers and for continuous product training and sales meetings.

- - - - - - - -Understand the needs of the customer (i.e. the product that they are looking to manufacture), and translate that information into a new machine RFQ. Work with our teams in the US and Germany to provide an accurate quote that shows the customer what Weil can offer, present that solution to the customer, and close the machine sale. Weil Technology's machines range from laser welding and cutting production line equipment to stamping presses.

- - - - - - - -Provide continuous feedback regarding customer visits and communicate any needs to the sales team. Visit reports, sales information, and continuous updates on potential projects.

- - - - - - - -Work with Weil Technology's Director of Sales (America) in Germany to develop new leads and contacts in existing and emerging industries.

- - - - - - - -Handle various projects that are being developed simultaneously. Individual machine orders / production lines range in value from $500,000 - $5 million.

- - - - - - - -Be the face of Weil Technology from the customer's standpoint, up until an order for capital equipment has been placed.

- - - - - - - -Represent Weil Technology at various trade shows, seminars, and networking events.


The ideal candidate will have the following credentials:

- - - - - - - -Sales experience (at least 3-5 years) in the machine tool, welding or industrial laser industries, preferably with metal forming technology and capital equipment. Experience in researching and identifying new customers and establishing close business relationships. Prior experience should be as a sales manager of a region or territory.

- - - - - - - -Experience in working with the customer's product needs and turning those into a machine specification.

- - - - - - - -Bachelors of Science or Associate's Degree in Engineering; detailed understanding of mechanical engineering preferred. Equivalent mechanical engineering experience in the US military is also welcomed.

- - - - - - - -Excellent communication / presentation / computer skills. German language skills are very beneficial for this position, but not required. Proven experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Teams. Ability to read and understand CAD files.

- - - - - - - -Already have work authorization in the US and a valid passport and driver's license.

- - - - - - - -Flexibility in travel schedule; road warriors are preferred. Required travel is estimated 3-4 travel days per week at customer sites; 1-2 office days per week.
