  • Identifies, develops, and drives new business opportunities
  • Defines and develops sales strategy, negotiates and drives closure for identified engine sales, execute proposals, and follows through to make the sale
  • Establishes achievable but challenging short and long term goals designed to promote and increase Rolls-Royce Power Systems market penetration in the Defense market
  • Provides responsive sales & service assistance to OEM's, distributors, dealers and end-users
  • Maintains regular contacts with OEM's, distributors, dealers and end-users
  • Manages assigned area and account responsibilities from a total sales & service support perspective.
  • Tracks and reports market trends, competitor activity, business conditions and account status, which will affect future sales success and report to management.
  • Resolves customer concerns and complaints in a timely manner that will create goodwill and future sales.
  • Develops and maintains close working relationship with OEM dealer personnel for the purpose of maintaining and increasing penetration of sales.
  • Prepares and presents professional sales presentations to OEM dealers & end-users.
  • Maintains knowledge of MTU products, applications and policies.
  • Attend and provide sales leadership for trade shows and events and reports activities to management.
  • Keep company property clean, organized, operational, control regional expenditures.
  • Controls regional expenditures.
  • Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
  • Perform special projects as required. Work Environment:

    Work Conditions:
    Daily work is performed in an office and outside sales environments. This position has a traditional work schedule (Monday - Friday).
    While performing duties of this position, employee will visit the customer's site and may be required to work inside or outside of the facility. While working outside, employees will occasionally endure hot, cold, and humid temperature conditions. The employee is also occasionally required to work in environmental conditions where there are fumes, odors, gases, and dust. Please note, the conditions can be hazardous. While performing duties of this position, the employee is regularly requested to sit, stand, bend, stoop, walk and regularly requested to activate a keyboard or mouse within the work environment.
    Please note, while the primary work environment is in an office environment with periodic visits to customer sites, the employee is responsible for wearing hearing and other personal protective equipment as needed.
    Specific vision requirements for this position include having the ability to adjust focus and see in color.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering and 5 years of experience in sales & service management or project management; or 9 years of experience in sales & service management or project management roles
    • Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines and systems
    • Excellent self-starter with the ability to work extended periods without supervision
    • Excellent ability to make independent decisions
    • Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Excellent negotiation skills
    • Strong level of analytical ability
    • Strong leadership skills, especially in addressing issues that cross internal departments
    • Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
    • Ability to travel domestic & international 10-20% of the time Preferred:
      • Knowledgeable of MTU products.
      • Knowledgeable of US Army / Marine Corps
      • Knowledge of military land based vehicles/equipment/programs
      • Experience in defense contracting
