Job Description:
Nesco Resource is searching for a dynamic person to fill a
position as FIELD SALES ENGINEER for a global company with a local
headquarters in the Novi, MI area. This is a direct placement
opportunity.
FIELD SALES ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Responsible for generating business and maintain relationship
to new and existing customers in mainly the Research and
Development customers
- Combine technical knowledge and sales skills to serve as
solution provider in variety of customer types, Vehicle testing,
Environmental testing, Agriculture, Monitoring, Civil engineering,
Industrial and related market segments within an assigned territory
or market
- Direct sales responsibilities in assigned territory -
Generating business, Closing business, Maintaining relationships
with existing customers
- Establish and maintain selling relationship in all levels of
customers, including engineering, purchasing, senior engineering
and senior management
- Utilize sales partner companies, support sales partners'
personals them to sell our solutions
- Execute customer visits in order to explain products/solution,
make demonstration, keep relationship, the visit is by yourself and
accompany with sales partners' visit
- Regular reporting and feedback of territory to management
- Create and provide spec sheet and quotation sheet to proceed
with business
- Develop strategies to grow the business in wide variety area
in, automotive, aerospace, machinery, environment, and other market
segment
- Technical understanding of strain gages, sensors and data
acquisition system in order to demonstrations in front of
customers
- Participate in exhibitions, regional shows, conferences to
develop new opportunities
- Develop and maintain order and sales forecast coordinating with
inside sales and manager
- Plan and execute marketing activities in order to identify
applications in which offering core competence
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a mechanical aptitude as it relates to vehicle,
machinery and structure (ideally with electronics, PCBs, data
importing, etc.)
- Ability to read 2D/3D drawings
- Background in instrumentation, test, data acquisition
preferred
- Ability and experience in demonstrating technical products
- Customer service excellence, and a genuine eagerness and
willingness to learn
- Leads will be provided, so will be responsible for warm calls
and emails, market and sell products, follow-up, track, negotiate
and close
- Be goal-driven to meet company and individual targets (based on
established KPIs)
- Have an outgoing personality, with excellent verbal and written
communication skills
- Be a good listener, and able to learn technical product line,
systems, and problem solving
- Part of a team, but must be able to work independently
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications and
comfortable with computers
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- High school diploma required
- Mechanical Engineering degree or other technical degree in an
engineering or physical science discipline (Associate's or
Bachelor's) preferred
- Knowledge of Japanese language or culture is a plus, but not
required; Civil Engineering knowledge ideal
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Sales Region: West coast and Mountain area (change the region
in periodically)
- Must be able to travel to the West Coast 1-2 times per month
for 4-5 days each to meet with customers
- Must be able to travel for 1-2 conferences per year for 3 days
each
- Must be able to travel oversees for a training session and
factory tour
- Travel expenses will be covered, plus per Diem
SCHEDULE (while working locally)
- Monday thru Friday 8:30am - 5pm
- Saturdays as needed
- Rare evenings (7-8pm) for virtual meetings with Japan (can be
done remotely)
- Hybrid/remote work may be acceptable
PAY RANGE
- Salaried position of $45-65k to start (no commission)
- Year-end bonus possible based on company performance
- Annual raises of 3-5%
