sales, administrative, and clerical support to the Group and
Convention sales team in the --implementation and management of
sales initiatives, activities, and processes. This position works
in close cooperation with several Visit Detroit internal staff,
clients, vendors, and members. This position requires a high level
of professionalism and customer service skillsLOCATION &
SCHEDULE:--Full timeThis position currently involves a hybrid
working model with 2 days remote, and 3 days in-office in Detroit,
MI.WHAT WE REQUIRE:Valid, unrestricted Michigan driver's
license.Bachelor's degree in hospitality, related field, or
commensurate experience.1-2 years' experience in an administrative
support position.1-2 years' experience within a sales, marketing,
or hospitality organization.PREFERRED:2-4 years' experience
providing administrative support in a hotel or Convention & Visitor
Bureau (CVB) sales department.Direct client/customer contact
supporting sales goals or fulfillment of obligations.2 years
working experience in the Travel/Tourism/Hospitality industry. --

and convention sales team to achieve strategic sales
goals.--Routinely monitoring lead sources, to ensure accurate and
timely data entry into the IDSS System for RFP's received through
various channels.--Collaborate and coordinate with sales managers
to maintain accurate and timely communication with clients,
partners and internal stakeholders as it pertains to the sales
cycle.Prepare and manage weekly, monthly and quarterly
reportsCollaborate and coordinate with sales manager to gather
correspondence to assist in the development of bid proposals, sales
presentations, eblasts and all communication relative to the sales
process.Coordinate with sales manager to organize site visits
including setting appointments, submitting travel requests,
developing itineraries, and site books.--Participate in site tours
as requested to advance, drive and provide overall support during
the visit. May include transporting clients in our company
vehicle.--With the Manager, Sales Support approval, participate in
regional initiatives, including trade shows, FAMs, and sales calls,
as needed.Routinely communicate with partners in a professional
mannerEfficiently and accurately navigate iDSS and MINT databases
with a high level of proficiency.Participate in scheduled meetings
with sales managers to review priorities and tasks

CONTRIBUTIONS:Proofreading, formatting, and preparing
correspondence.Telephone fulfillmentAssist in scanning and copying,
as needed.Provide overall support to Group and Convention Sales
Department, primary focus, Sales Managers.Provide back-up support
for other sales units within Visit Detroit as needed.--REQUIRED
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:Excellent communication skills
including the ability to clearly express thoughts, ideas, and
concepts, verbally and in writing, in the English language.Skilled
in organizing, prioritizing, and analyzing multiple assignments
simultaneously.Ability to think and manage creatively in a
fast-paced work environment.Ability to develop and maintain
effective working relationships with supervisors, peers,
colleagues, and external stakeholders.Maintains a positive and
professional work attitude, appearance, and behavior even in the
most demanding situation.Ability to work effectively in both remote
and in-person work environment; proficient using video conferencing
software and other remote work tools.Proficient in using personal
computer software and applications including Microsoft Word, Excel,
Outlook, and PowerPoint.--Available weekends and outside of normal
work hours for assignments and travel, as needed.Working knowledge
of the hospitality industry, knowledge of area industry
partners.Proficient in using customer relationship management
technology with ability to learn new systems.Intermediate knowledge
of sales and marketing processes and verbiage.--Ability to
coordinate multiple clerical tasks as well as play a supporting
role throughout the sales process.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING
CONDITIONS:Office work involves extended periods of sitting or
working at a desk, utilizing repetitive typing motions on a
computer or laptop, and reading text on a video display
monitor.Ability to perform extensive standing and/or walking for
work-related assignments and events.Ability to lift push, and or
