Medical Physicist Shift: EARLY COVERAGE - 0700-1530; LATE COVERAGE
- 0930-1800; NO CALL NO WEEKENDS Years of experience REQ: 2-5 years
in clinical radiation oncology setting Certifications: ABR, ABMP or
OH CRE cert, RAM license* First-timers accepted: NO Weekend REQ: No
weekend coverage Is on-call REQ? No Will clinician float within
scope to meet facility needs? Yes Floating Req to Sister
Facilities: (Y/N): Y - Flower Hospital and Maumee/ProMedica
Perrysburg Cancer Center Locals accepted: No local travelers 50
miles or less Special Requirements: Certifications: Completion of
CAMPEP approved residency or equivalent upon hire, American Board
of Radiology Certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics; or
American Board of Medical Physics in Medical Physics; or HDR
Brachytherapy Authorized Medical Physicist must meet credentialing
criteria required upon hire Degree(s): Master’s degree in medical
physics from a CAMPEP accredited Program required; or
Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree Equipment: Varian Truebeam,
Varian Edge, Varian Eclipse, Varian Aria, Varian Bravo HDR,
Variseed, Siemens sim CTs, Philips sim CT, Accuray Cyberknife, HDR
Brachytherapy, IVB, GammaTile, Theraspheres, Align/VisionRT,
SRS/SRT/SABR & Varian HyperArc Varian clinacs and ARIA patient
management system Job Summary: To provide medical physics services
in accordance with the highest standard of practice in planning,
optimization, evaluation and delivery of radiation therapy.
Responsible for ensuring the accurate and consistent performance of
the equipment, treatment plans and dose calculations. Responsible
for the safe and accurate administration of therapeutic radiation
and acts as the departments primary resource for all medical
radiation safety and regulatory requirements. COVID-19 Vaccine

Exemptions Only Job Description/Principle Responsibilities:/n•
Quality & Safety/no Responsible for the design, implementation and
compliance of the quality control program for all radiation
producing equipment and radioactive materials in accordance with
state and federal laws and regulations and accrediting bodies./no
Implements and quality assures appropriate procedures for the
planning and delivery of radiotherapy, including technical
specifications/tolerances a well as the flow of procedures entailed
in the process, including the supervision and QC review of
treatment plans and dose calculations./no Performs daily clinical
tasks pertaining to chart checks, plan checks, patient specific
quality assurance, or other special procedures as needed./no
Performs all weekly, monthly and annual Quality Assurance testing
on all equipment./no Attends and participates in departmental or
facility meetings such as but not limited to: CQI, huddles, &
weekly new case conference/n• Treatment & Planning/no Perform
physics planning and delivery of all radioactive brachytherapy
source procedures required in both radiation oncology and outside
departments./no Produce computer plans to satisfy physician
prescription or written directive./no May produce treatment plans
using the health system's available modes and techniques./n•
Collaboration/no Works with the physics team in a peer team model,
in which all physicists have proficiency and cover each other in
all aspects./no Consults and collaborates with radiation oncology,
dosimetry, radiation therapist, or department members on complex
treatment cases./no Collaborate with Radiation Safety officer to
achieve federal and state compliance associated with linear
accelerators, x-ray producing devices and brachytherapy sources./no
Participates in the collaboration with IS and vendors to
troubleshoot and upgrade systems used in Radiation Oncology./no
Provides leadership in technical, educational and radiation matters
to the radiation oncology department./n• Innovation/no Determine
technical specifications for selection of new equipment and/or
software, supervising the installation, and measuring performance
parameters to ensure the accurate clinical implementation of new
equipment/software./no Participates in the development and
implementation of protocols or treatment procedures in conjunction
